Random Giveaway #4: Frosty, Santa, or Rudolph?

My dear Sam tells me that this is a slightly morbid giveaway and that I should choose another topic, but I suppose I have a sometimes off sense of humor, so I'm continuing on regardless. If you don't appreciate the slightly dark, you'll probably want to skip participating in this one (In other words, you have been forewarned). :O) I don't think it's bad, but I respect that some may find it a little disturbing. Welcome to the inner workings of my mind.

Here's the question to answer:  It's December 26th and something very strange is happening. As you look up into the sky, you see Frosty the Snowman, Santa Claus, and Rudolph the Reindeer all falling to the ground. You have no idea what happened, nor why they are all together. You begin to panic because you only have time to save one. Who do you save (if any) and why? Your reasoning doesn't have to make sense, so have fun with it. It can be as simple or elaborate a response as you like. In the comments, please leave your reply no later than Monday, December 12, 2011 at 12:00 p.m. MST. The comment submission form will serve as the time stamp indicator, and all entries received after the cutoff point will not be considered in the random gift selection. As always, if you have not read the rules of the contest, please do so by clicking here.

The gift for this contest is a 1 year subscription to (winner's choice) one of the following:  Bicycle Times, Momentum Magazine, Urban Velo, or Bicycle Quarterly. Good luck to everyone! Also, as a quick reminder, giveaway #2 and giveaway #3 are still in process, so do remember to enter those as well.

  1. I would save Santa Klaus because he's the one who builds the toys! Frosty wouldn't suffer any damage because he's made of snow and he can reassemble itself and Rudolf can fly... unless he's suddenly lost his ability to fly? Well... Life is cruel and there's only one Santa but there are many (ten?) magical reindeers.

  2. Giles makes a very cogent argument, but I knowing my own difficulty with this kind of reasoning in an emergency, I think I would probably end up saving Rudolf. I guess because Frosty is just snow and Santa is sort of immortal? But Rudolf is just a poor little deer. My argument doesn't hold up well, but I think that's what I would do.

  3. I would probably save Rudolf. He's an endangered species -- the elusive Red-Nosed Reindeer. It would be a tragedy if he died.
Anyways, Frosty is creepy, and anyone can give presents. It would not be a present-less world if Santa died.
